Aims and Scope

Buckingham Linguatech Journal (ISSN 3121-2700) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by Buckingham English Center, Ecuador. It provides a specialized academic space for the dissemination, discussion and advancement of knowledge at the intersection of language, education, technology and innovation.

The journal aims to disseminate original and methodologically rigorous research that contributes to the understanding, development and transformation of language teaching and learning processes, with particular emphasis on English language education and its relationship with contemporary educational, technological, social and intercultural environments.

Linguatech seeks to connect scientific evidence with educational practice and technological development, promoting dialogue among researchers, academics, teachers, language specialists and professionals whose work contributes to linguistic education, applied research and innovation.

Editorial Process

All manuscripts submitted to Buckingham Linguatech Journal undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their correspondence with the journal's aims and scope and their compliance with the scientific, methodological, ethical and formal requirements established for publication.

During this preliminary stage, the Editorial Team evaluates the relevance and originality of the contribution, the coherence of the research problem and objectives, methodological consistency, quality of the academic sources, presentation of results, compliance with submission requirements and the general suitability of the manuscript for the journal.

Manuscripts that successfully complete the editorial screening are sent for peer review. Reviewers assess the scientific contribution, methodological rigor, theoretical consistency, relevance, clarity and contribution of the manuscript to its field of knowledge.

Based on the reviewers' reports and the editorial assessment, the Editorial Team determines whether a manuscript is accepted, requires revisions, must undergo further evaluation or is rejected.

When modifications are requested, authors must respond to the observations received and submit a revised version. Once a manuscript has been accepted, it enters the scientific editing, copyediting, metadata normalization, layout and proofreading stages prior to publication.

Editorial decisions are based on the scientific quality, relevance, originality and methodological consistency of each contribution.

Open Access Policy

Buckingham Linguatech Journal provides immediate and unrestricted open access to its published scientific content.

All published articles are freely available online, without subscription or registration barriers for readers. The journal supports open scientific communication as a mechanism for increasing the circulation, visibility, accessibility and social use of research.

Authors retain the intellectual property rights over their works. Published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

This license allows users to share, copy, redistribute, adapt and transform the published material for lawful purposes, provided that appropriate attribution is given to the authors and the original publication.

The journal's open-access model is consistent with the principle that scientific knowledge should be available to the academic community and society without unnecessary access barriers.

Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy

Buckingham Linguatech Journal recognizes digital preservation as an essential component of scholarly communication. Its preservation policy is aimed at maintaining the integrity, accessibility, traceability and recoverability of published scientific content and its associated metadata.

The journal uses Open Journal Systems (OJS) for the management and publication of its scientific content. Published files and metadata are maintained within the journal's digital publishing infrastructure and institutional server environment.

The journal promotes the use of standardized metadata and persistent identifiers to facilitate identification, citation, interoperability, retrieval and long-term access to published scientific objects.
